Angela Booth, a chorus girl engaged to a sailor, tries to quit her seedy nightclub job and become respectable. When her boss refuses to release her from the contract, an argument results in an accidental blow; he accuses her of assault, she is convicted and sent to prison. Fearing her absent fiancé will think she has jilted him, she hopes the seasoned inmate Gran’, famed for escapes, will break her out.
