Willow

Queen Bavmorda uses her dark sorcery to dominate the land and instill fear in its inhabitants. Alarmed by a prophecy predicting her downfall linked to the birth of a special child, she begins capturing all expectant mothers to prevent the child's birth.

As Bavmorda tightens her grip, a midwife manages to sneak away with the prophesied baby girl. She bravely places the infant on a raft, sending her downstream in hopes of evading the queen's forces.

The raft carrying the blessed baby washes ashore near a village of diminutive folk known as the Nelwyns. This discovery marks a pivotal moment in the fate of the baby, named Elora Danan.

Willow Ufgood, a farmer with aspirations of being a magician, stumbles upon the baby. The town council tasks him with the important mission of returning Elora to the realm of the Daikini, also known as the 'large people.'

Willow and his loyal friend Meegosh meet Madmartigan, the first Daikini they encounter. Despite his reckless nature, they decide to trust him in their quest to protect Elora.

Their journey takes a wild turn when they are ambushed by Brownies, mischievous creatures who snatch the baby from Madmartigan. This encounter sets off a chain of events that complicates their mission.

The fairy queen Cherlindrea informs Willow of his crucial destiny to safeguard Elora. She gifts him a magic wand which empowers him and instructs him to seek the wisdom of the sorceress Fin Raziel.

As they continue their journey, Willow and his companions encounter Sorsha, Bavmorda's fierce daughter. Tensions rise as Sorsha captures Willow and his team, leading them on a treacherous journey toward Nockmaar castle.

During a daring escape, Madmartigan falls under the influence of a love potion, leading him to develop feelings for Sorsha. This unexpected turn adds complexity to their relationships as they navigate their dangerous situation.

Upon reaching the sanctuary of Tir Asleen, the group discovers it's encased in ice due to Bavmorda's magic. With the threat of Sorsha's forces looming, Willow attempts to transform Raziel back into human form unsuccessfully, raising the stakes.

As Sorsha and her legion launch an assault, an unexpected source of hope arrives—the Army of Galladoorn, led by Madmartigan's ally Airk. Sorsha's changing feelings for Madmartigan add an intriguing twist in this pivotal battle.

Chaos ensues as Nockmaar's General Kael captures Elora, taking her back to the queen. This unfortunate turn forces Willow and his companions to band together for a daring rescue mission.

Together with Madmartigan, Sorsha, and the Brownies, Willow prepares to storm Nockmaar castle. In a decisive moment, Willow manages to restore Raziel to her human form, enabling her to cast a protective spell over their camp.

In the face of Bavmorda's malevolent ritual, Willow manages to save Elora just in time. This act of courage results in the queen's own magic contributing to her demise, turning the tide in favor of the heroes.

With victory achieved, Willow entrusts Elora's care to Madmartigan and Sorsha. He then returns home to his family, carrying with him a parting gift from Raziel—a book filled with enchanting spells to study and cherish.
