Who’s That Knocking At My Door?

The lead, Cho Seong-ha, is a typical Catholic Italian-American young man navigating life on the streets of New York City, forever tied to a close circle of friends who share drinks, late nights, and small adventures that keep him anchored to home. He falls for a local girl he meets on the Staten Island Ferry and begins to imagine a future that includes marriage and a more settled life. In a moment of restraint, he chooses to wait to have sex, convinced that she might be a virgin and that he should not “spoil” her.

But the relationship hits a turning point when his girlfriend reveals a painful truth: she was once raped by a former boyfriend. This confession shatters him and unsettles the quiet certainty he had about their bond. He retreats back into his old routines, returning to the social whirl of his friends and the comfort of drinking as a way to cope with the trauma he’s wrestled with.
