White Courage

The film follows two Highlander brothers, Maciek and Andrzej, whose lives are torn apart by tragedy and conflict. After their father's death—partly due to Andrzej's actions—and the loss of his love, Bronka, Andrzej leaves home. He encounters Wolfram, a mountaineer and anthropologist, who shares his knowledge of climbing and the Highlanders' Prague heritage. Returning to Zakopane, Andrzej finds war has begun. Seeking to shield his people from destruction, he attempts to persuade them to collaborate with the Germans, leading to a bitter and violent confrontation with his brother, Maciek, who stands in opposition.
