Isabella is a young woman struggling with anger and disconnection, her life deeply affected by the loss of her Italian mother to cancer at age thirteen. Her British father, Frank, overwhelmed by grief and harboring a secret, prioritized work and delegated her care to various caregivers. Years later, Frank remarries Claudia, an Italian woman who believes they all need a break. They decide to spend a month on a remote Italian country estate, hoping to reconnect with nature and with each other.
