Wedding in Malinovka

In the village of Malinovka, the Russian Civil War rages around residents who endure changing rulers. Andreyka and Yarinka's romance blossoms despite scarcity and danger. Their bond offers a thread of hope amid relentless conflict.

A band led by the ideological ataman Gritsian Tavrichesky takes control of Malinovka, bringing looting and violence. He proclaims an independent state and rules through fear and force.

Gritsian becomes infatuated with Yarinka and attempts to compel marriage through intimidation. Frightened, Yarinka escapes into the forest to seek safety and support away from the band.

In the forest, Yarinka encounters a small detachment of Red Army cavalry dispatched by Grigory Kotovsky's forces. The unit's commander, Nazar Duma, begins planning to counter the band.

Nazar Duma devises a plan to infiltrate the band by disguising himself as Chechel, a White Army officer captured earlier. The plan aims to catch the bandits off guard and pave the way for a decisive strike.

The Red Army captures the White Army officer Chechel and Nazar uses the disguise to enter the wedding. This ruse sets the stage for the ambush.

Disguised as Chechel, Nazar attends the wedding and plots to exploit the bandits' intoxication. He plans to catch them off guard as they toast and celebrate, and to disable the gang's machine guns during the revelry.

As the attack time nears, the signal is delayed and Gritsian grows suspicious of 'Chechel,' pressing Yarinka and risking exposure of the ruse. The plan hangs in the balance as tension mounts.

With the deception at risk of being blown, Nazar decides to act alone to ensure the ambush proceeds. He seizes the moment to strike despite the growing danger.

Reinforcements arrive and the bandits are defeated from two sides: Nazar's cavalry and the women of Malinovka led by Yashka the Artilleryman. The assault breaks the bandit's grip on Malinovka.

The wedding ends in defeat of the gang as Nazar Duma reveals his true identity as Yarinka's father. He blesses her union with Andreyka, legitimizing their romance.

With the bandits defeated and the Red Army in control, Andreyka and Yarinka's love is blessed and Malinovka begins to recover from the upheaval. The village settles back into a fragile peace for now.
