Watch the Skies

In the climax Denise and Lennart finally put Uno’s equation to the test. By driving the red Saab off the edge of a multistory parking garage they trigger the worm‑hole their calculations have predicted. Instead of crashing, the car slips through the distortion and the two find themselves in the same barn where the mysterious Saab had first landed, now blanketed in heavy snow and seemingly caught in an alternate reality.

There, Denise spots her father, alive but distant. He urges her to join him in what he describes as a larger, cosmic purpose, but she can see that his obsession with the unknown has always left her out. Remembering how Lennart has constantly stood by her, believing in her and risking everything for the team, she turns away from her father and runs back to the wounded scientist.

The worm‑hole begins to collapse, and together they race toward the barn, clutching each other as the portal shutters. When they finally collapse to the ground, time has surged forward: they awaken on a film set in 1998, two years after the events that began their search. A field inspector from UFO Sweden receives a call confirming that Denise and Lennart have been located.

The red Saab is later shown reduced to scrap at Lennart’s junkyard, and Tomi, having witnessed the car’s impossible disappearance, finally forgives Denise. Lennart hands her a mysterious piece of mail, hinting that help—perhaps from the very beings her father chased—guided them back to their own timeline. The film ends with the sense that the universe is far stranger than anyone imagined, and that the bonds forged by choice, not blood, are what truly bring people home.
