In the climax Denise and Lennart finally put Uno’s equation to the test. There, Denise spots her father, alive but distant. He urges her to join him in what he describes as a larger, cosmic purpose, but she can see that his obsession with the unknown has always left her out. Remembering how Lennart has constantly stood by her, believing in her and risking everything for the team, she turns away from her father and runs back to the wounded scientist.

The worm‑hole begins to collapse, and together they race toward the barn, clutching each other as the portal shutters. When they finally collapse to the ground, time has surged forward: they awaken on a film set in 1998, two years after the events that began their search. A field inspector from UFO Sweden receives a call confirming that Denise and Lennart have been located.

The red Saab is later shown reduced to scrap at Lennart’s junkyard, and Tomi, having witnessed the car’s impossible disappearance, finally forgives Denise. Lennart hands her a mysterious piece of mail, hinting that help—perhaps from the very beings her father chased—guided them back to their own timeline.
