WandaVision (1000) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

Wanda creates the Hex as a defense mechanism driven by overwhelming grief. After Vision dies in Infinity War, Wanda is unable to cope with her loss. Her chaos magic, fueled by trauma and sorrow, spontaneously manifests as a reality-warping bubble around Westview, allowing her to rewrite reality and live in a perfect suburban life with Vision and their children.

Agnes is actually Agatha Harkness, a 400-year-old witch disguised as Wanda's neighbor. She poses as a helpful friend while secretly studying Wanda's powers and manipulating events to steal the Scarlet Witch's chaos magic for herself. Her catchy theme song and ditzy personality are a facade.

Foreshadowing: Agatha's theme song contains subtle hints about her true nature, with lyrics that describe a nosey neighbor watching everything.

August 23rd appears to be the day Wanda and Vision got engaged or married in the sitcom reality. However, it also subtly represents the date of Wanda and Vision's canonical wedding in Avengers: Infinity War, which was interrupted by Thanos. The date remains ambiguous in the show, reflecting Wanda's uncertain memories of her happiest moments.

Wanda reads the Darkhold in the post-credits scene to understand and master her chaos magic. By accepting her identity as the Scarlet Witch, she seeks the knowledge to potentially rescue her children Billy and Tommy, whose consciousnesses still exist somewhere within the multiverse. The Darkhold contains dark magic that can help her achieve this goal.

Foreshadowing: The Darkhold was briefly seen earlier when Agatha used it to teach Wanda about her powers.
