Virgin Snow

Min and his father relocate to Japan, beginning a new chapter in their lives. The move places Min in a fresh environment with a different culture and language, setting the stage for his first encounters with Nanae.

At a local shrine, Min meets Nanae, a local girl and aspiring painter. He falls in love at first sight, and their connection quickly grows as they navigate cultural and language barriers.

Nanae is a student at Min's new school, and their friendship deepens into romance despite cultural and language gaps. They share moments of closeness that cross the boundaries of their separate backgrounds.

Min's grandmother falls ill, prompting him to return to Korea to be with family. The trip interrupts his budding romance, and he leaves Nanae without a proper goodbye.

Before they part, Nanae gives Min an amulet pouch containing a letter and tells him to open it later. She urges him not to read it before he visits his grandmother.

In an effort not to disappoint his grandmother, Min pockets the amulet pouch and ends up giving it to her as a gift. He keeps the contents unopened and hopeful for their reunion.

After his grandmother recovers, Min returns to Japan only to find Nanae has already left. The absence shatters his expectations and deepens the sense of separation between them.

Two years pass before Min's friend spots Nanae drawing in a park. She explains that she disappeared to protect her sister from their mother's violent boyfriend.

A few months later, Nanae and Min stumble upon each other at an art show in Korea. Their reunion is tense, with Min still bruised by years of no news and wary of re-engagement.

Min's grandmother discovers the letter hidden in the amulet pouch and hands it to him. The letter explains Nanae's wish to be with him forever but acknowledges she must go, and it requests they meet at the first snow in Seoul.

Following the letter's guidance, Min travels to Kyoto and discovers Nanae's diary entries showing she has waited for him there for years. The entries reveal her enduring hope and the years of longing.

Min returns to Seoul as snow begins to fall and heads for Deoksugung Street. He finds a paper note tied to a tree and, moments later, Nanae appears, leading to a tearful reunion.
