Violent Cop

Azuma is a police detective whose strong moral sense is overshadowed by a willingness to use violence to achieve results. He protects his intellectually disabled sister Akari and struggles with a gambling habit that pulls him into debt. His reputation for beating criminals and bending rules earns him both admiration and pressure from superiors, who reward outcomes over procedure. His arc culminates in a brutal confrontation with yakuza that tests his loyalty to duty versus his humanity.

Akari is Azuma's intellectually disabled sister, whom he protects with fierce devotion. Her vulnerability makes her an easy target for the drug underworld, and she is drawn into addiction as Kiyohiro and his circle exploit her. Her state deteriorates as the story unfolds, revealing the human cost of crime and corruption. Her eventual fate forces Azuma to confront the limits of mercy and justice.

Kikuchi is Azuma's new partner and ally who shares the streets' tough reality. He exhibits caution and ambition, navigating a corrupt system while remaining loyal to the older detective's memory. After Azuma's downfall, he rises within the force and is enticed by Shinkai to perpetuate drug sales through law enforcement, signaling a troubling continuity of crime within the police.

Iwaki is Azuma's close friend and a vice squad detective entangled in the drug trade. Newspapers expose his ties to the yakuza, driving him into hiding and making him a casualty when he is killed by the criminal world. His murder triggers Azuma's counterattack and reveals the depth of corruption within the force.

Nito is the yakuza boss who controls the drug network and uses his influence to shield criminals from police action. He manipulates events, ordering hits and leveraging his power to restrain investigations. His downfall comes when Azuma, acting on incomplete information, kills him, setting off a cycle of vengeance.

Kiyohiro is a sociopathic yakuza hitman who treats violence as sport. He defies orders and escalates the feud with Azuma, killing and wounding as he pursues his own agenda. He finally corners Azuma in a showdown and is killed by Azuma during the confrontation.

Shinkai is Nito's former advisor who manipulates police and criminal networks to keep the drug trade alive. He takes advantage of the heat around Azuma to lure Kikuchi into continuing drug sales within the force. His calculation shows how crime and corruption persist even after public heroism.
