After his overprotective mother passes away, thirty-year-old Viktor Leth, who has lived a sheltered life immersed in classic Danish cinema, sets out to find his estranged father. He discovers Charlie isn’s a jazz musician, but rather runs a struggling insurance company. Recognizing Viktor's surprising talent for business, Charlie brings him in to help save the firm. As Viktor adjusts to a new reality, he also finds himself falling for Josefine, a woman plagued by constant misfortune.
