Vigilante

Sadie lives in a motel and acts as a vigilante, helping women and children escape abusive homes. She struggles financially and relies on whatever people can give to support her cause. A map pinned to the motel wall marks her ongoing search for her missing husband, driving her daily routine.

She disguises herself with latex makeup, contacts, and a wig and is invited to Andrea and Michael Shaund's home under the pretense of a health insurance assessment. The ruse allows her to move unseen as she begins her plan against Michael. She overpowers him and forces the transfer of the deed and most of his money to Andrea, then warns him never to return near his wife or her family.

She helps a young woman escape from her abusive partner, acting quickly to remove her from immediate danger. The act demonstrates her commitment to safeguarding vulnerable women and giving them a chance at safety.

Outside a bar, Sadie fights off three men who attack her, using her trained fighting skills. The confrontation is brutal and quick, underscoring the danger she faces as a vigilante. She remains focused on her mission to protect others.

She rescues a young boy and his infant brother from their drug-addicted mother, who kept the infant locked away in squalor. She explains that police and social services will arrive soon to ensure their safety, and leaves the boy her number in case he needs help later. She notes she cannot stay because they would not be safe with her.

In a therapy group flashback, Sadie reveals her brutal past: her husband forced them off the grid, chased them with a knife, and killed their son Cody. After Cody's death, she found shelter and discovered Krav Maga, which fueled her drive to protect others. She also finds Cody's drawing with the letter 'C' and leaves a note offering to help other women.

Her sadistic husband secretly stalks her, slipping into her motel room and striking her from behind. She wakes bound to a chair in a mountain cabin, where he taunts her and burns Cody's drawing. When he leaves to hunt for food, she frees herself and begins planning her escape.

After a chase, Sadie confronts her husband and accuses him of killing Cody. She kills him in a final struggle and dumps his body on a mountain road. The act ends the immediate danger but leaves her haunted by the past.

Sadie visits her attorney and learns that the police found her husband's body but have no evidence of the murderer. Because he is a felon, investigators are unlikely to pursue the case further, though the life insurance claim should be processed.

With the case unresolved, Sadie leaves to answer another call for help from a woman seeking assistance. Her mission continues as she moves forward to protect more vulnerable people.
