During her time at Sierra Airlines, Donna meets Ted, a dedicated lake patrol officer, who shares her sense of adventure. Although Christine pursues Ted, he is drawn to Donna, igniting a budding relationship between the two.

After retaking her exam and earning a perfect score, Donna is assigned to fly to Paris on a First-Class international route. However, this success comes at the cost of her relationship with Ted, who feels abandoned.
