Can You Keep a Secret?

Emma Corrigan, portrayed by Alexandra Daddario, is a junior marketing representative for Panda, an organic food company, currently attending a sales meeting in Chicago that could lead to a crucial promotion. Unfortunately, her efforts backfire when the client reveals their target demographic has no interest in Panda’s products. In a desperate attempt to salvage the situation, Emma inadvertently sprays the client with an energy drink.

While returning to New York, a sympathetic flight attendant offers her a vacant first-class seat, where she indulges in complimentary champagne and sits beside a dashing stranger. As turbulence rattles the plane, an inebriated Emma, believing death is imminent, spills her deepest secrets, including her dissatisfaction with her boyfriend Connor, played by David Charles Ebert. Even after safely landing, Emma quickly departs, only to be greeted at the airport by Connor, who suggests they should move in together. Regrettably, a drunken agreement leads to morning remorse.

Back at work, Emma faces reprimand from her boss, Cybill, who chastises her for the failed client meeting while instructing her to prepare for the upcoming visit from CEO Jack Harper. To Emma’s shock, Jack is the same captivating stranger from the flight. They share an understanding of the awkwardness of their previous encounter, with Jack promising not to reveal her secrets, but he seems to have a playful agenda of his own.

During a pivotal marketing meeting concerning the struggling Panda Bites product line, Emma boldly proposes targeting the elderly, contrasting the company’s focus on Millennials. Despite initial resistance from coworkers, including Connor, she seeks a portion of the marketing budget to pursue her idea in an elderly-focused magazine. As Jack observes Emma’s frustrations with Connor, she impulsively tries to reignite their relationship, but after a significant rejection, Emma breaks things off.

As their connection deepens, Jack and Emma embark on a passionate romance, igniting Emma’s vulnerability while Jack remains enigmatic. However, embarrassment strikes when Jack unwittingly reveals Emma’s secrets on live television during a discussion about the company’s marketing strategy, leaving her mortified and prompting a rift between them.

Confronting Jack at a coffee shop, Emma demands answers about his mysterious trips to Chicago, which he hesitates to disclose. Fueled by frustration at their unequal relationship, Emma briefly considers revenge with the help of her roommate Gemma and their mutual friend Lissy, portrayed by Sunita Mani. Yet, despite their suggestions to expose Jack, Emma decides against it.

Emma’s luck begins to turn when the advertising campaign for the elderly magazine, her brainchild, boosts sales for Panda Bites. As recognition for her contributions grows, she finally receives the much-deserved promotion, although Cybill warns her that she must work hard to gain respect in the office now that her relationship with Jack is known.

At a dance recital for Lissy, Emma finally learns from Jack the truth behind his Chicago trips: he is the godparent of Pete’s secret daughter, a revelation that helps mend their fractured relationship. Their joy is short-lived as Emma’s friends attempt to discover more about Jack’s past. However, realizing that Emma had nothing to do with the tabloids, Jack and Emma reconcile on a flight back to Chicago, culminating in Jack’s willingness to reveal his own secrets, solidifying the bond they’ve created through honesty and vulnerability.
