Sarojini, Aparna Sen is a renowned dancer whose fierce dedication to her art saturates every facet of her life. While honors and acclaim illuminate her professional path, the home front grows restless as her soaring profile widens the gap with her husband. Manish, Bodhisattva Mazumdar wrestles with resentment as Sarojini’s star rises, and he takes on the upbringing of their only daughter, Aditi, while she remains absorbed in performances.

Aditi, Debashree Roy comes of age within this fragile triangle, returning home as a young doctor on the threshold of her own career, following in the footsteps of her father. The atmosphere is thick with unspoken tension as mother and daughter try to bridge a widening rift.

Aditi’s prospective husband, Sudip, Prosenjit Chatterjee dumps her after his family learns of her mother’s profession, just as the public ceremony shines a light on Sarojini’s achievement. Heartbreak drives Aditi toward a desperate choice, and she contemplates suicide, a crisis that forces the two women into a long, candid conversation.
