From 1978‑82 Glenn O’Brien hosted New York’s TV Party, co‑hosted by Blondie’s Chris Stein and directed by Amos Poe. The “sub‑realist” program featured Walter Steding’s TV Party Orchestra and guests such as The Clash, Nile Rodgers, Jean‑Michel Basquiat and David Byrne. Archival footage and interviews with surviving participants show how the chaotic, charged party shaped the era’s art and music scene.
