Trans activists led the 1969 Stonewall uprising, yet their stories are seldom shown on screen. T.V. Transvestite records a LaBeija ball in a hall, featuring legends Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey and Sugar. After two decades of being lost, the film offers a rare look at pre‑voguing, pre‑AIDS queer culture and NYC’s early independent LGBTQ filmmaking.
