What Happens at the End of Trap House?

How Trap House (2025) ends, what the final scene means, which earlier moments set it up and how to read the ending if the film leaves it open. The full ending explained, with every spoiler.

At the climax Ray finally pieces together that the string of daring heists targeting the Juárez cartel is being orchestrated by his own son, Cody. The proof comes when the surveillance footage of the attack on the money‑mule “El Viejo” shows Cody’s distinctive wrestling move, a gesture Ray knows only his son uses. When the DEA corners the cartel‑laden beer‑truck at a gas station, Cody cuts the power, forces a chaotic shoot‑out and slips away in the vehicle, leaving his father stunned. Ray orders his partner Andre not to give chase, a decision born of both anger and a reluctant protectiveness for his boy.

The next day Ray hosts a dinner for Cody’s new girlfriend Teresa and her mother. In a twist, Teresa’s mother is revealed to be Natalia, the cartel leader Benito’s sister, who has been feeding the cartel intel on the DEA. During the meal a cartel token that Cody kept as a souvenir surfaces, confirming that the stolen truck carried only bricks of cocaine, not cash. Before Ray can confront his son, the cartel kidnaps Deni, one of the teens, from the hospital and Teresa calls Cody, demanding the truck be returned if he wants his friend alive. Ignoring his father’s pleas, Cody decides to meet the cartel alone, prepared to blow the truck up if necessary.

When the cartel’s men close in on Cody, the DEA bursts in, and a desperate fight erupts in the tunnel the cartel has been digging under the border. Benito, trying to protect his family, sacrifices himself, while Ray kills Natalia when she turns her gun on his son. After the dust settles, Ray beats Cody up, then imposes a cover story: both he and Cody claim they went to visit Deni when they were separately captured. Cody finally sees how far his father will go to keep him safe, and Andre, having witnessed everything, stays silent, recognizing that the teens’ reckless crusade was born from good intentions. The film ends with Jesse returning to El Paso and Teresa taking charge of the cartel, poised to exact revenge for her family’s loss, leaving the story on a tense, unresolved note.
