Hazel, a Protestant, falls in love with Malachy, a Catholic, but their relationship is jeopardized by Rohan, a militant leader and friend of Malachy’s brother Padhar, who pressures Malachy to join the cause, and by Hazel’s brother Jef, who secretly monitors her meetings.
