During the temple chariot festival, Mayan plants a bomb that kills people from both sides of the village. Sakthi protects Mayan’s family and helps them escape, then locates Mayan’s hiding place. In the ensuing confrontation, Sakthi beheads Mayan and faces the community’s demand to share the blame. He chooses to surrender to the police and urges peace and education for all as the village looks on.
