At 35, Magnus Edkvist detests class reunions and normally avoids them, but he agrees to attend the gathering of the class he abandoned more than two decades ago. He does so because he hopes his teenage sweetheart, Hillevi—the girl he once planned to run away with and spend his life—might be there, giving him a chance to confront the girl who got away.
