In the elevator, Skylar's Christian parents and many other guests suddenly die with blank white eyes, signifying their souls have been taken while their bodies remain. This triggers the catastrophic events that follow.

The Rapture is the apocalyptic event where God takes believing souls to heaven, leaving behind non-believers. Pastor Shay explains that believers' souls are taken while their mortal bodies remain on Earth. Those taken appear dead, with white eyes. The film depicts this as a global catastrophe affecting the entire city.

Sam makes a final stand for belief despite knowing the danger. She video records Allison choosing God moments before her death, reinforcing the theme that faith matters even in the face of certain death. Sam is killed shortly after declaring her belief, suggesting spiritual conviction outweighs survival.
