Andreas Pum, a disabled ex‑soldier who lost a leg serving his empire, leaves the army and gets a license to run a drehorgel. After a clash with a gentleman he disturbs order and assaults a police officer, ending up in jail and losing his license. Released, he works as toilet attendant at Halali. On his deathbed he admits he was decent and obedient.
