Bored courtesan Zélie de Chaumet persuades her lover, the corrupt and influential Stetz, to accompany her on a night of slumming. In the streets they cross paths with Pierre Boucheron—known as “The Rat,” the de facto boy‑king of Paris’s underworld—and the naive Odile. Their chance meeting sets off a whirlwind of love, danger and lost jewels, irrevocably altering each of their destinies in this intense romantic melodrama.
