Pierre, the artistic director of a theater, learns that his estranged daughter Manon will visit after a year’s absence. Eager to make a good impression, he enlists his girlfriend Ariane and the troupe, having the actresses rehearse various aspects of Manon’s character. Despite the elaborate preparation, when Manon finally arrives, reality proves far different from his imagined scenario.
