Lethe, an elderly widow, walks to her mailbox every day hoping for a letter from her distant family, who are absorbed in their own lives, leaving the box empty. Neighbors try to fill the void, yet cannot replace her absent children. Concerned, they reach out to her relatives, who finally send a letter—only to deliver devastating news.
