Veeru and Madhu, both raised in traditional families, find themselves bound by an arranged marriage. On the eve of their wedding, a bold impulse pushes Veeru to plan an escape, and in a twist of fate, Madhu is also seen trying to run away. The two pull back from blame games and instead choose to open up, sitting down to share their true reasons for resisting the union and what they hope to find in life—and in each other.

Veeru is the head of a construction company built by his father, working alongside loyal friends like Balu and Shweta. A night of trouble ends with him being battered in a bar brawl, and he is treated by Dr Krishnaveni. That encounter blossoms into a relationship, yet their romance is strained by constant misunderstandings, jealousy, and overthinking. When Veeru meets Krishnaveni’s family, a misreading of the situation leads him to inadvertently back a match her family wants for her, fueling a huge rift between them. Despite the growing pressure from his father to marry, Veeru initially resists, but the wedding date looms and he begins to doubt whether he can defy his duty.

Meanwhile, Madhu has spent years fearing marriage—worried about ending up with a violent or unsympathetic partner, a fear reinforced by stories from films and television. After saying yes to Veeru only after much persuasion from her cousin, she too is pushed to a breaking point on the eve of the wedding. A moment of doubt surfaces as her mother’s warning echoes, threatening the dream of a calm, loving life. The fear becomes so strong that she, too, resolves to flee the venue, hoping to protect herself from a future that feels uncertain.

Despite their separate decisions, Veeru and Madhu lack confidence in leaving the other behind. They converge in a shared car and head first to Krishnaveni’s home, where the doctor tells Veeru that she had urged him to elope with her—prompting a sudden turn of events. He leaves with the intention of taking Madhu to a bus stand so she can return home to Hyderabad, but Madhu’s thoughts turn toward her father and the impact of their secret departure. Regretful, she asks to go back, and Veeru agrees to return them both to the venue.

On the return journey, a reckless moment shifts the course of their night: they strike a goat, which triggers a local tribe to intervene in a ritual where a tribesman is supposed to marry the goat. With the animal injured, the tribe forces Madhu to become the bride of the man instead. Veeru fights to protect her, but is overpowered and thrashed. In a fortunate turn, the tribe discovers the goat alive and—seeing the sincerity of their bond—releases Veeru and Madhu.

As they head back toward the wedding venue, their feelings for each other deepen but remain unspoken. The drama of the day fades into a quiet realization: they do care for one another and want to pursue a life together. Arriving back at the venue, Veeru and Madhu finally acknowledge their love, choosing to marry in front of their families and friends, sealing their commitment as originally intended—together, at last.
