Set in 1970s Sydney, the film follows a charismatic womanising newspaper reporter who faces career setbacks and a sudden loss of sexual confidence, all against the turbulent Australian media and political backdrop of the era. Its sharp satire and personal crisis echo the tone of the American classic Shampoo, though on a modest Australian scale.
