In autumn 1941, Nazi forces besiege Leningrad while a new tank model is rushed into production at a massive defense plant. The unfinished combat vehicles are tested on the front lines, clashing with fascists on the city’s outskirts. Shot on location in factories and Leningrad’s streets, the film depicts the heroic daily lives of the city’s defenders amid the siege.
