When the factory owner’s daughter accidentally strikes the unemployed and starving Chris with her car, her father is forced to hire workers to make amends. The incident puts Chris’s life on an upward trajectory, and his new aim becomes winning the hand of his boss’s daughter, hoping that marriage will finally bring him the happiness he has long sought.
