Philippe, an older industrialist whose wife is bedridden and childless, plans a seaside holiday. He befriends Paul, a young working‑class man, and brings him along. The trip shows Paul the luxury of upscale hotels. At the resort he meets aristocratic youths and, trying to blend in, pretends to belong to their class, but his deception unravels.
