While his wife lies in the hospital awaiting their child's birth, husband Slavek spends the day repairing TVs and reflecting on their relationship. He reminisces about meeting Ivana and their early courtship, and begins to question the society his newborn will inherit, calling for change. It is the first feature by Czech writer‑director Jaromil Jires.
