Olaf Ussing, the elderly chamberlain, lives in the castle with his three unmarried daughters—played by Malene Schwartz, Lone Hertz and Mimi Heinrich. Nearby resides the wealthy bachelor Poul Reichhardt, whose flamboyant butler is portrayed by Ole Monty. The young women are courted by two dubious suitors, Preben Neergaard and Preben Mahrt, and an old admirer, Henning Palner, returns.
