Thomas, the son of a millionaire, lives in a mansion in the countryside. When his father hires a widowed caretaker, her son Charles moves in. The adults hope the boys will be friends, but they become rivals, each seeing the other as an intruder. As the parents fall in love, Thomas vows to make Charles’s life miserable.
