The World of Kanako

Akikazu Fujishima, once a dedicated detective, faces a dramatic decline in his life. After a violent incident related to his wife's infidelity, he loses his job, his marriage crumbles, and he becomes estranged from his daughter, leading to years of instability and alcoholism.

Years later, Akikazu receives a frantic call from his ex-wife, Kiriko, regarding their daughter Kanako's mysterious disappearance. This call reignites a flicker of purpose in Akikazu, prompting him to take immediate action to find her.

Determined to find Kanako, Akikazu launches into a chaotic investigation, navigating through the underbelly of society. He enlists the help of detective Asai, but soon finds himself taking the lead in this dangerous quest, often relying on reckless tactics.

In his desperation, Akikazu confronts Kanako's classmates and teachers to squeeze information from them. Through aggressive intimidation, he uncovers details about Kanako's troubling descent into drug use, deepening his fears for her safety.

Flashbacks reveal a backstory of Sigon, a young man who had feelings for Kanako. His life spirals out of control after a night of drugging and violence, leading him to become entangled in his obsession and ultimately ending tragically.

As the story progresses, Sigon's journey culminates in violence when he is brutally killed by an unknown attacker. This event weighs heavily in the backdrop of Kanako's own dark troubles, intertwining their fates.

Akikazu’s relentless quest leads him into the clutches of the Yakuza, who torture him for information. During this harrowing encounter, he learns of Kanako's connections to criminal elements through her friendship with gang member Matsunaga.

Before succumbing to his fate, Matsunaga confesses details about Kanako's love for a dangerous man named Ogata. He expresses his own love for Kanako and offers invaluable insights into her life, revealing her dangerous affiliations.

Akikazu discovers the disturbing reality that the police are involved with the criminal underworld. Detective Aikawa's actions further reveal a corrupt system, one that manipulates and controls, intensifying Akikazu's fury for justice.

Armed by the Yakuza, Akikazu confronts Detective Aikawa in a violent showdown. Fueled by rage and a desperate need for revenge, this confrontation spirals into chaos, resulting in death and destruction.

As police arrive amidst the swirling chaos, Akikazu narrowly escapes but is left to grapple with the immense betrayal and loss surrounding him. The weight of his actions follows him, complicating his quest for closure.

Returning from the chaos, Akikazu seeks out Kanako’s teacher, believing she holds answers about his daughter's fate. His desperation drives him to confront her about the horrific experiences Kanako endured and her role in it.

In a frantic search for answers, Akikazu forces the teacher to dig for Kanako's grave hidden beneath the snow. Excited yet desperate, he holds onto the hope of finding Kanako, only to face the bleak reality of the situation.

Despite the teacher's protests and claims that Kanako is dead, Akikazu's determination does not waver. He vows vengeance against those responsible for his daughter's suffering, cementing his path towards redemption and justice.
