The Texas Rangers

Wahoo supplies the routes and cargo information to Sam and Jim, enabling their stagecoach racket. They rob a stage and shoot at Wahoo to prove he is not in on the robberies. When lawmen surround their camp that night, the trio splits up and Sam is nowhere to be found.

A Texas Ranger rides shotgun on the couch beside Wahoo. Jim plans to rob the stage when it stops to water the mules, but Wahoo senses the Ranger's presence and stalls the job, shoving Jim aboard as a paying passenger. The Ranger's intervention becomes clear when he quickly kills two other robbers, showing they have been saved.

Impressed by the Ranger's reputation and in need of money, Jim and Wahoo decide to join the Rangers. They hope the position will enrich them while giving cover for their schemes.

Sent to locate cattle rustlers, Jim and Wahoo discover the group is led by Sam. Sam agrees to a plan to work both ends against the middle, promising a shared fortune.

During the pursuit, they face a group of hostile Indians who have murdered the family of young David, whom they are looking after. The alliance between Jim and Wahoo strains under the new danger as they confront a deadly threat.

Jim proves his worth by saving the Ranger company from annihilation in a large Apache war party. His courage earns him growing trust and responsibility within the Rangers.

Jim becomes so trusted that he is sent to singlehandedly arrest and prosecute a murdering town boss. The assignment tests his loyalty and the limits of his undercover alliance with Sam.

Jim originally plans to install Sam as the new town boss but changes his mind and has Sam promise to leave the area. The twist foreshadows the coming conflict between old allies.

Sam begins a reign of terror in the region, and Jim is tasked with bringing him to justice. The pursuit threatens to fracture the Rangers' unity as loyalties clash.

Jim attempts to resign from the Rangers, but proof of his former association with Sam is presented and he is arrested and jailed. The moment forces him to confront the reality of his past.

Wahoo sets out in Jim's place with a plan to lure Sam to the Rangers' headquarters by pretending to join Sam's gang, hoping to spring Jim from prison. The ruse hinges on Sam's willingness to trust the undercover ploy.

Sam discovers the plot and kills Wahoo, foiling the attempted ruse. The loss deepens Jim's resolve to capture Sam and end the threat.

Following Wahoo's death, the Rangers release Jim to go after Sam. Jim pursues Sam with renewed determination, determined to see justice done.

Jim corners Sam and kills him in a final shootout. The film closes with Wahoo's funeral, laying to rest the outlaw trio.
