Promoted as the “book they said could never be filmed,” the story follows 1930s barnstorming legend Roger Shumann, a former WWI ace who thrills crowds with daring aerial feats while his wife LaVerne performs as a parachutist. When reporter Burke Devlin comes to cover their act, he quickly becomes enamored with the beautiful but neglected LaVerne, setting the stage for love, jealousy and high‑flying drama.
