The Squaw Man

Disgraced British Army Captain James Wingate takes the blame for Henry's misappropriation of the regiment's charitable fund. To save Diana's marriage and their honor, he leaves England for the Wild West. He takes over a Montana ranch and begins a hard new life far from his past.

Naturich sneaks back to see her son depart; James holds a standoff with the sheriff on the front steps. She shoots herself while clutching Hal's wooden horse, dying in James's arms. The tragedy seals the end of a fragile, chosen family and the price of secrets kept too long.
