Enemy agents from an unknown nation have installed secret automated facilities in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans designed to sink ships. The advanced submarine Pioneer and its intrepid crew are sent to locate the source of the mysterious sinkings. Unbeknownst to the captain, the chief engineer is a double‑agent working for the adversaries, determined to halt their plans at any cost. The plot thickens when it is revealed that the real chief engineer had a twin—an ex‑circus acrobat—who murdered him and assumed his identity.
