The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre

On May 22, 1994, during a rural Texas prom night, Heather discovers Barry cheating on her with another girl and storms off with him. Jenny and Sean hide in the backseat, smoking marijuana, as the group drives away in the chaos of the argument. Heather detours onto a back road, colliding with an unconscious motorist, and the teens split up to search for help.

The trio stops at a remote office trailer where Darla, an insurance agent, promises to call her boyfriend Vilmer for help. She exudes a calm confidence, but her assurances feel uneasy as a sense of danger hangs in the air. Darla agrees to contact Vilmer, tying the group to a dangerous help, and the plan begins to unravel.

As darkness settles, Heather and Barry become separated from Jenny while searching for assistance. The woods feel claustrophobic as the three teens lose sight of each other, heightening the tension and danger. They press on, unaware of Vilmer's looming pursuit.

Vilmer arrives at the crash site, killing the unconscious motorist and pursuing Sean through the night. He drives a truck back and forth, backing over Sean as the danger closes in. The threat now shifts from the wreck to Vilmer and his violent intent.

Heather and Barry stumble upon an old farmhouse and explore its creaking interior. Leatherface emerges on the porch and attacks Heather, dragging her inside and into a meat locker. Meanwhile, W. E. confronts Barry at gunpoint and forces him deeper into the house.

Inside the house, Barry tricks W. E. and locks him out, but Leatherface soon discovers Barry and kills him with a sledgehammer after finding a corpse in the bathtub. The brutal act marks a grim turn for the teenagers as the house seals their fates. Leatherface's rage continues to escalate the danger.

Leatherface corners Heather in the meat locker and kills her by impaling her on a meat hook. The gruesome act solidifies the house as a place of deadly danger and leaves Jenny, Barry, and Sean's fates increasingly precarious. The family’s hold on the victims tightens in the darkness.

Jenny returns to the wreck and is met by Vilmer, who offers a ride but then reveals the bodies of Sean and the motorist hanging in the truck bed. Jenny seizes the chance to bolt into the woods, fleeing from Vilmer and the sense that both the wreck and the farmhouse are hunting grounds. Her escape marks a desperate bid for safety.

Back in the farmhouse, Jenny is pursued by Leatherface through a long house-wide chase, discovering more preserved corpses in an upstairs room. She escapes through an upstairs window and disappears into the night, her heart pounding as she flees the horror she’s witnessed. The chase cements the farmhouse as a labyrinthine trap.

Jenny seeks refuge with Darla, only to learn she is in league with the killers. W. E. appears and beats Darla with an electric cattle prod before they stuff Jenny into Darla's trunk and drive off to pick up pizzas for dinner. The moment shifts from a rescue to a ritual of capture and control.

Tormented by Vilmer, Jenny is brought to a dining room where she is surrounded by the killers. Rothman arrives and reprimands Vilmer for his methods, then displays horrifying scarifications on his torso and even licks Jenny’s face. After Rothman leaves, Vilmer erupts in rage, intensifying the danger in the house.

Vilmer slashes himself in a frenzy and kills Heather by crushing her skull with his cybernetic leg, then turns his fury toward Jenny. She uses a remote to disable Vilmer's leg, buying her a slim chance to escape. Jenny reaches a dirt road and is rescued by an elderly couple in an RV, though Leatherface and Vilmer pursue them.

A cropduster swoops in, killing Vilmer and ending his rampage. Jenny is then met by a limousine that pulls up and Rothman apologizes, explaining her experience was meant to be spiritual and that Vilmer had to be stopped. He offers to take her to safety and to the hospital, where she speaks to an officer, while Leatherface’s despair echoes into the night.
