In the quaint setting of San Francisco’s Grove High School, we follow Mia Thermopolis, a girl navigating the tumultuous waters of adolescence alongside her loving but busy single mother, Helen, in their unusual home—a renovated firehouse. Mia feels like an outsider, often mocked by her classmates and struggling with crippling shyness.
