This trio had once been the vibrant heart of a celebrated music group that paid homage to the legendary Jacques Brel and other iconic musicians, but their lives took different paths after Claire’s pregnancy caused a fissure in their camaraderie. In the years that followed, her youngest son, Sid, had attempted to carve out a niche for himself in the R&B scene, only to be met with a litany of rejections from recording companies.

Now confronting her own mortality, Claire became fervently determined to return to the spotlight. Despite her doctor’s warnings to take it easy and recuperate from the injuries sustained in the accident, including a sprained leg and a concussion, she was resolute in her mission. As the trio’s rehearsals progressed, they honed their distinctive style, with Sid firmly believing that fame was within their grasp. To pursue their dreams, he took the initiative to submit a demo to a prestigious talent show competition. To their delight, they were selected, but Lut and Magda faced personal challenges that threatened to derail their budding success. Claire acted as a unifying force, urging her bandmates to dedicate themselves to a single performance, even as Michel’s doubts about his mother’s deteriorating mental condition grew.

Just as the trio was about to take the stage at the competition, Claire was rocked by the devastating realization that Artuur had betrayed her, sending her mind into turmoil. Struggling to process this heartbreak, Claire became lost in a nostalgic haze, reliving memories from her youth, particularly her 20th birthday when she last sang with her former band in front of her mother and future husband.
