The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking

A volcanic eruption triggers a violent storm that shatters the sea around the Hoptoad. In the chaos, Efraim vanishes into the waves, leaving Pippi to fend for herself. The ordeal pushes Pippi to seek safety elsewhere, setting the stage for her journey to Rocksby.

Pippi travels to the coastal town of Rocksby with her horse Alfonso and monkey Mr. Nilsson after the storm. She takes up residence at Villa Villekulla, where the locals joke that the house is haunted. She begins carving out a life on her own terms.

Curiosity drives Tommy and Annika to explore Villa Villekulla after lights appear in every window. They encounter Pippi along with her monkey Mr. Nilsson and horse Alfonso, debunking the haunting rumor. The pair quickly befriends the unconventional girl and begins their adventures together.

Tommy, Annika, and Pippi embark on a series of playful adventures around town and the house. They make pancakes, scrub the floor, serve ice cream to the local children’s home residents, ride a motorcycle, and dodge the mischievous splunks. The group bonds over these quirky escapades.

Mr. Blackhart and his henchmen Rype and Rancid arrive with plans to demolish Villa Villekulla and sell the property. Pippi refuses to yield to their intimidation and defends her home and friends. The looming danger raises the stakes for her new family in Rocksby.

Miss Bannister guilts Pippi into considering sending her to the local children’s home. The prospect weighs heavily on the girl who has grown attached to Tommy, Annika, Mr. Nilsson, and Alfonso. This pressure triggers a drastic plan to escape the town’s authority.

Pippi agrees to flee with Tommy and Annika in a homemade autogyro to dodge removal to the children’s home. The escape culminates in a perilous ride down a river in barrels, nearly sending them over a waterfall. They are miraculously rescued just in time.

Despite the near-miss, Miss Bannister’s guilt trip prevails and Pippi is forced to go to the children’s home. She must leave behind Mr. Nilsson and Alfonso, marking a painful separation from her early companions. The move tests Pippi’s independence and resilience.

A fire accidentally started by the janitor engulfs the children’s home, endangering the residents. Pippi bravely rescues two of the orphans, earning the town’s admiration as a heroine. Her actions shift the tide of sentiment in her favor.

After her rescue, Pippi is celebrated and allowed to return to Villa Villekulla. The townspeople recognize her bravery and view her as a loyal friend to the local children. She resumes life with her companions in the sunny coastal town.

On Christmas Day, Pippi is reunited with Efraim, the ship’s captain who had once crowned him as king of an uncharted island. He offers her a chance to become a cannibal princess of that island and to sail away with him. The moment is emotional and fraught with longing.

Pippi decides that she cannot leave Tommy and Annika behind, despite the allure of the island kingdom. She tells Efraim that she will stay with her friends and return home. He understands and bids her a fond farewell as he sails away.

Efraim sails away while Pippi, Tommy, Annika, Mr. Nilsson, and Alfonso head back to Villa Villekulla. They share a tearful goodbye, then reunite at home where Pippi remains a fearless, free-spirited member of their makeshift family. The adventure ends with a return to normal life, enriched by the journey.
