Short film directed by Orson Welles based on Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. Though completed, it is often called unfinished, more accurately a partially lost work because the original negatives are missing. A restored version, built from the script and composer’s notes, premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival alongside Othello in the pre‑opening ceremonies.
