A group of Athenian couples plans to see the ancient production of Medea at Epidaurus and adds a side excursion to Nafplion. Early the next morning they drive together, pause at a rail crossing while a train passes, and Mado suddenly recognizes a fleeting silhouette of a man in the train’s window, causing her to faint.
