The King of Kings

Charles Dickens, a renowned storyteller, has captivated audiences with his narratives for many years. However, this prolific writer paid a price for his dedication to his craft, which sometimes kept him at a distance from his own family. A significant challenge in his personal life was his relationship with his youngest son, Walter, a five-year-old full of imagination and dreams. Amidst the wonder, Walter learns of the oppressive reign of King Herod, who is relentlessly searching for the newborn King. With Dickens’s rich storytelling guiding him, Walter undergoes a profound transformation, immersing himself in the life and struggles of Christ. He witnesses Christ growing from his modest origins to gathering his loyal disciples and performing miraculous deeds. As the narrative unfolds, the bond between father and son begins to strengthen.

Walter experiences the deep sorrow of Christ’s persecution and crucifixion, while Charles helps him navigate these difficult emotions by explaining that the story’s conclusion was necessary. As Jesus rises from the dead, illuminating the world with hope, the connection between Charles and Walter solidifies. At long last, the two find the relationship they have been yearning for, building a foundation of love that will endure throughout their lives, thanks to the enchanting power of storytelling.
