J.J. Pierson, Thurston Howell III's ruthless corporate rival, arrives on the island with a scheme to force the castaways to sign over ownership for supremium ore. He uses manipulation and pressure to push his agenda, threatening the island's future.

Pierson deploys devious tactics to trick most of the castaways into signing fraudulent contracts. Gilligan and the Skipper sense something's wrong and begin investigating the scheme. The stakes are high, as the fate of the island hangs in the balance.

Thurston Howell IV moves toward finalizing signatures, but his father forces Pierson to tear up the fraudulent documents if the Globetrotters will play his team, the New Invincibles. The condition ties the island's fate to a televised game, offering a dramatic leverage point.

A climactic basketball showdown is arranged between the New Invincibles, a team of robots, and the Harlem Globetrotters. The island's future rests on who wins, and notable broadcasters Chick Hearn and Stu Nahan provide play-by-play commentary.
