Plot Summary
A lost silent drama set in Greenwich Village follows immigrant Leo Peret, who runs a tobacco shop. Clubman Edward Livingston visits, pretending to buy cigarettes but to speak with Leo’s daughter Jeannette, whom he loves. When Leo cannot afford a trip home, Edward gives $1,000 as a payment, allowing the couple to leave together.
