The Great Wall

A band of European mercenaries sets out on a treacherous journey to China during the reign of the Renzong Emperor. They are in search of gunpowder, hoping to find riches and fame in their quest.

Just north of the Great Wall, the mercenaries encounter a terrifying beast and are brutally attacked. Only William Garin and Pero Tovar survive this horrific onslaught, managing to sever the creature's arm as a grim trophy.

Upon reaching the Great Wall, Garin and Tovar are captured by the Nameless Order, a group pledged to protect China from the Tao Tie monsters. Led by General Shao and Strategist Wang, the Order reveals the magnitude of the threat they face.

The Tao Tie, alien creatures that descend every sixty years, launch an unforeseen assault a week early this time. Chaos ensues, leading to a fierce battle at the Wall between the Nameless Order and the monstrous horde.

During the chaotic battle, Garin and Tovar are freed by Ballard, an Englishman held captive for twenty-five years. Utilizing their combat skills, they help defend the Wall and earn respect by saving a young warrior named Peng Yong.

A night-time infiltration by two Tao Tie results in the tragic death of General Shao, leaving Commander Lin to take command. This unexpected turn puts the Nameless Order in a critical position during the ongoing crisis.

An envoy from the capital arrives bearing an ancient scroll suggesting that the monsters could be pacified using magnets. This revelation leads to discussions on how to exploit Garin's unique stone for defeating the Tao Tie.

Garin proposes a bold plan to capture a Tao Tie alive to validate the theory about magnets. Despite Tovar's frustration and Ballard's skepticism, they proceed with the plan, leading to an eventual successful capture.

After capturing the monster, they face a setback when the Imperial envoy claims the creature for transport to the capital. This unexpected turn dampens their victory and leaves them vulnerable to further attacks.

Amidst the chaos, Tovar and Ballard take the opportunity to steal black powder, which leads to a confrontation. Ballard betrays Tovar and ignites the stolen powder, resulting in a catastrophic explosion.

In the capital, the captured Tao Tie awakens and signals its queen, prompting a full-scale assault. The Nameless Order rapidly mobilizes as Commander Lin prepares to respond to the threat.

After being freed from prison, Garin and his allies deploy hot-air balloons to reach Lin. They know they must act fast to counter the impending attack from the Tao Tie forces converging on the capital.

Garin and his companions strategize to use the captured Tao Tie as a weapon against the queen by luring her with meat. This mission becomes perilous as they navigate the dangers posed by the Tao Tie.

During their mission, they are ambushed by the Tao Tie, leading to a heroic sacrifice by Peng Yong to protect his friends. His bravery allows Garin and Lin to continue their fight against the queen.

In a climactic battle, Garin uses a magnet to create an opening in the queen's defenses. With a decisive strike, the queen is defeated and the Tao Tie menace is neutralized, allowing Garin a chance to return home.
