The Mondoshawans vowed to return this relic before the malevolent force reawakened.
Fast forward to the 23rd century, when an apocalyptic inferno emerged from the depths of space, manifesting as this ancient terror. This relentless fiery entity obliterated an armed Earth spacecraft bound for our planet, making its sinister intentions clear. As chaos reigned across the Federated Territories, priest Vito Cornelius (Bruce Willis) briefed the President on the dark history of the great evil and the sole weapon capable of neutralizing this existential threat.
Simultaneously, a Mondoshawan vessel carrying the precious relic was ambushed by a mercenary crew of Mangalores, hired by Earth industrialist Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (Gary Oldman) to further the aims of the looming malevolence. The remains of the destroyed ship included a dismembered hand encased in metallic armor, which found its way to New York City, triggering events that would alter the trajectory of human history.
Utilizing cutting-edge biotechnology, the government recreated Leeloo (Milla Jovovich), the original occupant of the sarcophagus, using the severed hand as a model.
